Opened in 1989 by Matt Molloy, flautist of The Chieftains — Ireland's most celebrated traditional music group — Matt Molloy's is Westport's most famous pub and one of the great trad music venues in the world. Sessions in the intimate front bar begin around 9pm nightly; Matt himself can regularly be found joining in. The rear Yard Bar hosts larger gigs across all genres.
