Run by the O'Flaherty family and self-described as 'a country pub in the middle of the city', Tig Cóilí on Mainguard Street is one of the world's great traditional music pubs — two sessions every evening at 6pm and 9:30pm, with musicians joining in organically as the night progresses. No food served; the focus is entirely on the music and the pint. Seating is limited so arrive at least an hour early. A 4.7-star institution.
